…An Open Alternative

I’m a big fan of OpenOffice.org and since version 3.0 was just released, I wanted to take a minute and recommend it to everyone out there as a great alternative to similar suites out there. It’s free to use, the source code is open, and it supports ODF. It won’t cost you much other than a bit of time to decide whether you like it or not, so there really isn’t much of an excuse to pass it over. I’ve been using it for a long while now and aside from some rare pains converting documents from non-standard and non-open formats, it’s been really solid.
